Additional Information
Staff Accommodation at ClachaigUnless already resident in the local area, securing somewhere to live is likely to be a major hurdle.
Clachaig can accommodate up to 12 employees in our Staff Lodge and Staff Bothy. The buildings are located in the grounds of the inn, and offer accommodation of a high standard. Bothy buildings are subject to HMO licenses, issued by the Highland Council, ensuring that minimum standards of comfort, Health & Safety are met.
Accommodation is available in single or twin rooms in either the Staff Lodge or the Staff Bothy.
To ensure that the high standard of accommodation is maintained in perpetuity, Security Deposits are required from occupants of Clachaig's staff accommodation. In addition, the accommodation is subject to weekly Management Inspections. These are conducted in a fair manner, with the greatest respect for the occupants right to privacy.
Rented Accommodation in the local areaThere are a variety of flats and houses in nearby
Ballachulish village which may be available for rent. Similar accommodation may also be found in
Glencoe and
Kinlochleven. It is recommended that you have your own transport if you wish to explore this possibility due to the distance from Clachaig (Approx 4 - 5 miles).
This type of accommodation can be hard to find, though not impossible. Many employees start off at Clachaig and once settled and established in the area move on to rented rooms/houses, often along with fellow staff.
Dress Code
The dress code for all staff is the ubiquitous 'smart casual'. Basically, this means that we're quite informal, as is the style of our business. However, it doesn't mean that jeans, t-shirt, tattoos, piercings and plenty of jewellery are acceptable.
Clachaig branded Polo Shirts are provided on loan to all staff, along with a top quality Clachaig branded Keela mountaineering jacket. Whilst on duty, your 'top layer' must be one of these branded tops. A Security Deposit is payable. You are required to provide your own smart trousers or skirts.
Chefs and Catering Assistants are provided with Chef's Whites and aprons for kitchen use.
